21st Century Laser Dentistry For You and Your Family
Welcome to our office!
Did you know that laser technology makes it possible to have many dental procedures done with minimal discomfort even without a shot of anesthetic? No shot, no numbness, no drooping lip, no wait to eat and you are in and out of the office faster since we do not have to wait for anesthetic to set in.
Adults and kids love the "no shot" way of doing things. Since starting laser treatment more than 8 years ago, I now use the laser, without any shot, for more than half of all dental procedures in my office. And the cost for laser procedures to you are the same as for the traditional way of doing things.
Granted, some limitations still exist with the laser. We still use traditional methods with anesthetic for more extensive procedures such as when we remove old silver fillings, repair large cavities or prepare for a crown.
However, doing more than half of all procedures painlessly certainly is a huge step in the right direction. And, if we catch cavities or soft tissue problems while still small, the chance of using the laser for treatment increases dramatically.
So, if laser is so good, why do not all dentists use a laser for dental treatment? The up front cost of the equipment and training plus hesitancy to use new technology are the most common reasons stated by dentists in surveys conducted by the American Dental Association and dental publications. Based on the positive comments from my patients after laser treatment, I consider the laser one of my best investments ever.
